Salem State College Baseball

Micaela Hersee

With a busy class schedule, internship and job keeping up with sports has become nearly impossible. Lucky for me, I have a roommate who dates a member of the SSC baseball team, lets call him John Smith.

Over the course of this semester Smith has gotten used to my questions and messages as I attempt to throw together something on the baseball team and the progress. Since a friendship has been established between myself and Smith it is reassuring that he is not bullshitting me at all when discussing the team. He keeps it honest and makes sure he covers all positive and negative factors.

When I asked him a few days ago for a recap of the current season he was more than happy to oblige.

The Salem State Vikings are currently have won 10 games and have lost 10 as well. They have had note worthy pitching from Matt Kerr and Al miner, however nothing big has occurred so far in the season. The Vikings are 1 win and 3 losses in the conference which determines whether or not they make it to the playoffs. Typically a team needs at least 8 wins and 6 losses to play.  The vikings will have to play very well to make it to the conference but with a new strategy and the faith of the fans anything is possible.

Until next time...

Very, very cool topic for a blog, Michaela, and very well done. I love how you combine your personal perspective with information about the team. You should let the team know you're blogging about them.
